Fashion trends change every season, but there are certain basic items of teenage girls clothes that everyone wants in their wardrobe. Combining important pieces allows you to create lots of different styles. While denim jeans are a staple in most wardrobes, the style of jeans changes regularly. Fashions change so quickly that the hot thing one year is totally out of fashion the next. Every teenager is different and although they may not care about current trends, that’s what will be in all the boutique’s and stores. To know what is in fashion, either start shopping at your favorite local mall or read fashion magazines.
Because of the flexibility of jeans they are a must have basic item. For casual wear, add a t-shirt, sweater or plain shirt with sneakers or flat shoes. Dress up these jeans with a camisole top,Jacket or your favourite blouse and don’t be afraid to get the high heels out.
Tank tops, turtlenecks, khakis, shorts, slacks, skirts, sundresses and blazers are key wardrobe pieces. The styles and colors of these items will also change from season to season. Don’t worry about skirt lengths as short or long tend to stay in fashion at all times.
Because styles change so quickly, the quality of girls clothes is not as important. Girls will tire of their clothes long before they wear out, so pick what you like that fits your budget and don’t worry about durability. That being said, you should always check labels for washing guides. Washable clothes are easier and cheaper to maintain than dry clean only.
Choose your own personal style through trial and error, don’t be afraid to experiment
One of the nicest things about teen apparel (and of being a teenager in general) is the freedom to experiment. What you wear can be an expression of your personality. Jeans now come in an array of colors. Some have decorative rivets, while others display fancy embroidered designs. The way you arrange the pockets can be a decorative statement.
Round neck or v-neck it doesn’t matter, your T Shirt can be solid plain color. It can have stripes or patterns. It can display a message, either for or against a cause, showing off its manufacturer or just saying something amusing. The fun about T shirts is you can decide in the style you wear it as to the message you’re trying to portray.
But the biggest part of the teen apparel experiment comes through accessories. You will find them in department stores and speciality stores as well as clothing outlets. When selecting shoes, fit and comfort may be sacrificed to style. This may not be a good tradeoff depending on what activities you plan to pursue while wearing them. It’s important to try on both shoes as all of us have one foot bigger than the other.
Shoe material can be cloth, plastic, imitation leather or the real thing. Leather shoes are usually the most expensive, but they last the longest. Before making a big investment in shoes, think about how long you believe they will suit your taste, style and wardrobe and how long you might want to keep wearing them.
The handbag or purse is another great accessory. Matching your purse to your shoes? forget it and go wild, modern day fashion does not require a match. A backpack or large shoulder bag are ideal for carrying all your gear. Pick a tiny, shiny bag for that night on the town. If theres room for your phone, lipsalve, keys and cash etc. then it’s fine. If you plan an active day, forget the bag and go for a belt pouch. No longer just for athletes, these come in an array of styles and colors like other purses. When the time comes accessorise, spice up your look with jewellery, hats, gloves, belts etc…
