Choosing new glasses or sunglasses changes the way you look. Glasses aren’t just devices to improve your vision (although that’s still their most important function), they’re a reflection of your character and personality. You have to be comfortable in your glasses and confident that you look good too, which explains why so many people are choosing to buy designer glasses and designer sunglasses nowadays.

There is no end to the number of different frames available in a neverending selection of colours, materials and shapes. The seemingly endless options can be a little overwhelming. If you’re buying designer glasses obviously it’s important to think about the image you want to give.A reserved, sensible look might be best for glasses which are primarily worn at work. If you want to make a statement and go for bright unrestrained glasses there are dozens of recognised designer brands out there, including Prada glasses for example that combine an intrinsic sense of style with the name recognition that is more of a fashion and lifestyle statement. Whichever way you lean, choose designer glasses to suit the shape of your face and not just your outfits or your desired social standing. The same is true when choosing designer sunglasses.

People with a square face look best in oval shaped or round glasses. If your face is wider at the top a smaller style of frame will look best, with low sides and either rounded or square. Styles with decoration at the temples or ones which are wider at the top than the bottom will do more to draw attention to your face shape than balance it out. Wider styles suit those with wider foreheads, full cheeks and a rounded face.Small rounded styles and any large frames should be avoided as they will only make your face look more round.

Oval Faces with a wide forehead, gently curving jaw and high cheekbone will suit pretty well any style, so your choice is virtually unlimited.Wide frames with a strong upper line will suit faces that are long, with high cheekbones and a deep forehead.Oval faces are nicely balanced by large square frames, although small squares should be avoided. Bold, bright designs will suit you if your face widens at the jaw, but narrower frames will not look so good.

With designer sunglasses in particular, remember that, aside from making you look good, the primary role of these items is still to protect your eyes from the harmful effects of UV radiation. If you can, try the glasses on for comfort, style and feel.Lastly never forget that although a designer label is a fashion statement, at the end of the day it’s only your own opinion that matters, as long as you feel comfortable with your choice it’s the right one!
