There are many different questions that we have when it comes to our hair, but one of the biggest questions that you are going to want to answer is what hair cut is going to suit you best. A hair cut can really make or break your entire look, so you want to be aware before you even head in to the salon as to which hair cuts are going to suit you and leave you looking fantastic.

There are a few tips in particular that will help you figure out which hair cut is going to look best on you and be the most flattering.

Facial Shape

By far, the most determining factor here is going to be the shape of your face. The shape of your face will look better with certain cuts than others, and there are going to be a few cuts that you will definitely want to avoid.

If you have an oval shaped face you are lucky because almost any style will look good on you. You should avoid super long hairstyles however, because this will just make the shape of your face look overly oblong and can leave it looking a bit weird. The best idea is to have some layers, especially up around the face as they will draw attention to your chin and make your face look rounder.

Straight cut bangs all the way across the forehead also work especially well on oval faces because they help to widen the face a bit and are very flattering.

If you have more of a rounded face, you want to get a hair cut that is going to have sleek lines and tapered ends. Avoid curly or otherwise big hairdos because this will just end up widening the shape of your face even more. The worst thing about having a round face is that you often look much fatter than you really are.

For square faces, people should stick to softer haircuts and styles. Soften up the sharpness of an angular jaw with lots of curls and waves. Keep lots of hair around your face, framing it in a way, if you want your haircut to be the most flattering.

No matter what face shape and haircut you have, the most important thing is that you take the time to learn about hair care and how to take proper care of your hair so it will look shiny and luxurious.
